The Old Jail, Carnwath
Year: 1920
A postcard with the title, ‘The Old Jail, Carnwath’. It features a great view of the Cross at Carnwath with the Tolbooth. The Tolbooth which dated back to the early 16th century was demolished in 1929. It was a pity that it went as it was the oldest surviving Tolbooth in Scotland. Behind the Tolbooth was a bike shop. There is also a biking club sign on one of the buildings in Carnwath.
