Blaeu map of Biggar

This is another section of the Clydesdale Map – this section was called the Upper Ward. Some interesting bits around Biggar include West and East Hartree represented by towers. Shieldhill too has a tower part of that still stands today as part of the Shieldhill Hotel. Finally there is Quothquan Mill which might make an interesting project to find.

Joan Blaeu was a Dutch cartographer born in Alkmaar, the son of cartographer Willem Blaeu.
