McKirdy Fountain

Year: 1904

A good view of the McKirdy Fountain in Main Street, Lesmahagow as it looked in 1904.

The shop on the opposite side of the fountain is that of John Loudon, Grocer. Near the fountain was George Smith, cycle shop. It is next to the delivery cart.

The card is interesting as it was sent to Mr John Lawrie of Woodside Cottage, Eastfield, Harthill by James Morrison. James was a member of the Nethanvale Lodge and the card was sent to the Harthill Lodge which was another Temperance Lodge. James hopes that the members will be striving to ban the evil of drink.
