Ordnance Survey, Wilsontown

Year: 1898

This Ordnance Survey map of 1898 shows the profound impact that railways had on an industrial area such as Wilsontown. The station was near Wilsontown House. It still survives but at Cleghorn Bridge, the late Bob Kerr had it taken to his property. His son still has it. It is a fairly small wooden building which can only accommodate a few people.

The term mineral railway shows that that part of the line did not carry passengers.
